Brian Lawrence Witmer, 47, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at his residence.Brian was born in Whitehall, PA on October 24, 1963, the son of June Mulholland Witmer of Whitehall, PA, and the late Warren Wade Witmer. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where he was an extremely active member. He was the social director who always helped coordinated fellowship outings and ice cream socials. He had a deep love for the childrenâs ministry and was a Sunday School Teacher who was known as the âDonut Manâ to the older kids. He had a deep abiding faith in God which he shared frequently.Brian was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran where he served as a purser, attaining rank of Lance Corporal. He received his B.S. in electrical engineering from Point Park College and his Masters degree in Business Administration at WVU. He was employed at Mylan Pharmaceuticals as an Assistant Manager of the Instrumentation Department. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Penguins. In addition to his mother June, he is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Jacquelyn Kleberg Witmer, his son Jacob Ian Witmer, his siblings Caren Witmer of Pittsburgh, W. Gregory Witmer and wife Ruth of Randolph, MA, Denise Zovack and husband Frank of Pittsburgh, and Jeffrey Witmer and wife Debbie of Indiana, PA as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Wesley United Methodist Church, Morgantown from 5-8pm on Friday, September 9, and from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am on Saturday, with Rev. Michael Atkinson officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover. In accordance to Brianâs wishes he has requested that all attending his services please wear his favorite color of blue, or your favorite color- anything but black.
