Judith Klingberg Palmer, age 66, born February 27, 1945 passed away peacefully at home on August 2, 2011 due to complications from pancreatic cancer. Judy, as she was known to her friends and family, was the daughter of the late Gene and Jean Klingberg of Morgantown. She was a graduate of Morgantown High School and West Virginia University. Judy retired in 2003 from West Virginia University after 30 years of service in the Departments of Pharmacology and Behavioral Medicine.Judy was passionate about animals and was active in animal rescue and spay/neuter groups in Monongalia County. She was one of the founding members of Mountaineer Spay Neuter Assistance Program (M-SNAP) and was a co-manager of the ReTails Thrift Shop, located in the Morgantown Mall, which sales support the M-SNAP mission. Judy was an active member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, serving as a chapter advisor for many years. Throughout her life, Judy enjoyed amateur radio, gardening, glassware, and reading.She is survived by her husband G. Michael Palmer of Morgantown daughter Michelle Palmer of Germantown, MD daughter Karen (Daniel) Wolff and grandchildren Grace and Augustin Wolff of Washington, DC sister Susan (Donald) Burton of Farmington Hills, MI brother William (Adele) Klingberg of Houston, TX stepmother Rita (John) Benear of Tulsa, OK. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John Klingberg of Boca Raton, FL.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown from 1-3 & 6-8 PM Friday, August 5th and again on Saturday, August 6th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Reverend Steven E.
