Virginia Emma Schiavi Nordstrom, 80, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011, at her residence. Virginia was born in Summit, NJ on March 12, 1931, the daughter of the late Louis Joseph Schiavi and Emma Sherry Schiavi.She graduated from Bernards High School in 1949. She was a school bus driver for 20 years as well as a driving instructor. She initiated a program for parents and kindergarten students called Safety in and around the School Bus. She was a member of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry, 7th Degree member in Myersville, NJ, Secretary of the Hunterdon Central Booster Club, President of Hunterdon Central Band Parents, was an EMT with the Whitehouse First Aid and Rescue Squad and Califon-Tewsbury First Aid Squad, a member of the Mountaineer Womenâs Club from 1994-2000, a member of the Morgantown Art Association since 1994, a volunteer with the American Red Cross and a member of the Mt. Morris Lions Club. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald H. Nordstrom, her children, Cherie Lynn Nordstrom Braun, Ted Robert Nordstrom and wife, Linda, John Edward Nordstrom and wife, Diane, her grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Braun, Jenna Leigh Nordstrom, Adison Nicole Nordstrom, and Griffin Scott Nordstrom as well as her sister, Elizabeth Mary Schiavi Grossweiler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Marie Schiavi Raiello.The family would like to give a special thanks to TLC Hospice. To honor Mrs. Nordstroms wishes, cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at St. Thomas a Becket Episcopal Church on Wednesday, August 3, at 1pm with Rev. Julie Murdoch officiating.
