Let it be joyfully known that Frank Rinaldo Demasi, Jr., 62 years of age, of Morgantown, WV, finished his labors for a kingdom of love, and entered eternal life on June 29, 2011. Frank accepted the diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrigâs Disease) in 2008 with dignity and grace, and fought bravely every step of the journey. Frank was the devoted son of the late Frank R. Demasi, Sr. and Betty Ingram Demasi, who survives. Frank was the grandson of the late Frank and Mary (Cavallaro) Demasi and Glen and Georgia (Hall) Ingram.He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Lee Evans Demasi, whom he married June 1, 1968, at Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, in Morgantown, the devoted father of Andrea Renee Demasi and her husband Corey Cogswell, Charles Town Frank Rinaldo Demasi, III and his wife Laura Lemmon Demasi, Grafton and Michael Justin Demasi and his wife Beth Bennett Demasi, Morgantown. Frank was the fun and loving grandfather of Frank Rinaldo Demasi, IV, Nicholas James Demasi, and Katherine Lee Demasi the loving brother of David Demasi and his wife Sally, Donna Demasi Wilkins, Janet Demasi Romito and her husband Dave, and Penny Lape Demasi wife of his late brother, Larry Demasi. He was a loving uncle of his many nieces and nephews, and he cherished his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.Frank graduated from Saint Francis de Sales High School, Class of 1966. He had the honor of driving the ânun busâ as his car became affectionately known, picking up the Ursuline Sisters â" dressed in the full habit of that era - at the Convent on Beechurst Avenue and driving them to the school in Evansdale. He was a graduate of Morgantown Business College.Frank was employed as an electrician for Progressive Industries, Westover. He not only enjoyed his work, but diligently worked to ensure that miners working underground were working with safe equipment. He enjoyed playing blackjack and visiting Wheeling Island Casino, watching WVU football and basketball, and watching NFL Football, cheering for the Baltimore Ravens. A golf enthusiast, he was a member of the Royal Oaks Golf Association and was named Mr. Royal Oaks in 2008. The annual family vacation to North Carolinaâs Outer Banks was more than just an event to Frank â" it was a passion. Frank delighted in introducing the ocean, sea life, water fowl, and Howardâs Pub to a new generation. Frank attended St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Morgantown, where he was a Minister of Hospitality and helped with Food Sunday, delivering the monthly food collection to Catholic Charities. We will come together in Christâs peace at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Saturday, July 2 at 10:00 A.M.To mourn because we are human.To rejoice because we are Christian.To thank the Father for the gift of his life.To celebrate the power of Jesusâ resurrection.To sing our alleluias because.Friends will be received on Friday, July 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church, One Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV. A Scriptural Wake Service will follow beginning at 7:00 p.m.On Saturday morning, at the church, the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Father Mark Ward, CP, VF will be the presider.
