Obituary of Roy Waugh

On June 29, 2011 Roy M. âTomâ Waugh went home to the Lord. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glea Brannon Waugh whom he married on November 27, 1963. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Romel and Maxine Waugh. Tom was born January 4, 1924 to John and Lulu Barker Waugh. He proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Gambier Bay which was sunk in the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 25, 1944. His career was spent working for the West Virginia Glass Company, the Colonial Glass Company and he retired from Louie Glass in Weston, WV. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weston. He is survived by his children, LaDonna (Phil) Clemmer of Elkview, Joseph âBrother Lukeâ Waugh of St. Meinrad, IN and Edward (Amy) Waugh of Morgantown his sisters, Beulah (Bob) Bush of Martinsburg, Margaret McClain of Fostoria, OH and Thelma (Del) Freeman of Pittsburgh, PA his grandchildren, Emily (Nathan) Newman of Charleston, and Mackenzie and Ethan Waugh of Morgantown and his great-grandchildren Sydney and Jodie Howerton, and Cadence and Cashton Newman. A memorial service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Weston by Rev. Kenneth Miller on July 5, 2011 at 11am. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Peopleâs Hospice, 3 Hospital Plaza, Suite 3S, Clarksburg, WV 26301 or the First Baptist Church, 132 E. 2nd St., Weston, WV 26452. Hastings Funeral Home of Morgantown is handling the arrangements.
