Alice Payne, 97, of The Madison, formally Cheat Neck, died June 16, 2011. Alice was born May 29, 1914, in Crawley, WV, to the late William H. Heaster and Eulalia Brackenridge Heaster.Alice attended Calvary Methodist Church, Over Cheat, for many years where she played the piano and taught Sunday School. In later years she attended Emanuel Baptist Church in Westover and also played the piano there.Alice is survived by four sons and spouses William Ellison (Nola) of Arizona, Robert (Mary Lou) of Westover, Edward (Barbara) of Morgantown and Daniel (Joyce) of Florida, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband Roy Payne in 1976 and a grandson, William ""Bill"" Payne.The family would like to thank The Madison Employees for all their compassion and care they extended to our Mom over the years. Visitation will be held at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Saturday, June 18th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and also on Sunday June 19, 20l1, from 2:00pm until time of the funeral service at 3:00pm with Rev. Barry Darnell officiating.A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011, at 1pm at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
