Marie Ripple George, 82, Morgantown, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011, at Martha's Manor.Marie was born in Pierce, WV on August 29, 1928, the daughter of the late George and Freda Wilson Ripple who died when she was very young and she was raised by Joseph and Ocean Nine Rhodes. She was a faithful member of Mountain Chapel Church. She retired as a custodian from WVU. She was a homemaker and loved gardening. Marie truly enjoyed her family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Erwin J. High and wife, Wanda, Bradley A. George and wife, Willa, John N. George and wife, Libby Dodson, Daniel R. George and girlfriend, Linda Watson, James K. George and fiancée Amy Brown a step-daughter, Louise Rodeheaver and husband, Thurman a brother, Ray W. Ripple, 14 grandchildren, Steve Rodeheaver, Joseph High, Rich High and wife, Wendy, David George Jr. and fiancée Rosa Goff, Thomas George and fiancée Ginger Stewart, Amanda Robinson and husband, John, Candy Woods and husband, Ted, Melissa Schell, John N. George, Jr. and wife, Jody, Crystal Bergey, Charles Loulis and fiancée Mackenzie Fetterolf,, Danielle George, Emily George, Haymond George 29 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Haymond George in 1991 a son, David H. George in 1994 a step-daughter, Dorothy A. George in 2008 a daughter-in-law, Sandra Sue High in 2002 and her long-time companion, Theadore Ringer in 2005. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 4-9 PM Thursday, March 17th and again on Friday, March 18th from 11 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM with Pastor Damon Nicholson officiating. Interment will follow in Nicholson Chapel Cemetery, Morgantown.
