Kenneth âKennyâ Franklin Cole, 79, of Grafton Road, Morgantown went home to the Lord on February 2, 2011, at Golden Living in Waynesburg, PA.He was born on Nov. 8 1931, in Morgantown a son of the late Ira M. Cole and Lottie Virginia Wolfe Cole.Kenny was a former custodian at WVU Hospitals. He was a member of the Local Carpentersâ Union 604 of Morgantown. He also served as an UMWA Local 2258 coal miner, formerly at Cumberland mine in Kirby, PA.He was a member of Morgantown Lodge #4 AF & AM, Osiris Shrine, Wheeling, Morgantown Shrine Club, Taylor County Shrine Club, Upper Mon Valley Shrine Club, Mountaineer Patrol, Royal Order of Scotland, AARP, and America Legion. He was also retired from the U. S. Army with 26 1/2 years of service. He served in the National Guard and Reserves as well as Active Service. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Elsie Alberta Weaver Cole, sons Kenneth Glenn Cole of Oakdale, Pa., Michael Ray Cole and wife, Trina of Morgantown and daughter Tracy Anne Cole Powers of Winter Haven, Florida grandson David Michael Cole and wife Seret and their sons, Jason Englestad, Finnegan Cole and Drexal Cole grandson Richard Steven Cole and granddaughter Megan Leigh Cole of Oakdale, PA Princess the dog Boots and Tinkerbell the cats.He was preceded in death by his brother, Ira M. Cole, Jr., his parents, grandparents and an infant daughter, Dawna Marie.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Friday, February 4, from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. V. F. W. Post 548 will conduct military rites in the funeral home at 8:30p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, Feb. 5, from 11a.m. until the time of the funeral service in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Tomer officiating. Family burial will be held on Monday, at the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, WV with full Military Honors.
