Becky and family, On behalf of the Kanawha Valley Astronomical Society,KVAS, I extend our sincere condolences and prayers at the passing of Jack. He was a staunch amateur astronomy supporter and a long time friend and mentor to many of our members. His encouragement and enthusiastic presentations at Blackwater Falls and Green Bank Star Parties inspired all participants. His legacy will live on.

Becca and Sandy - Jack was such a great kid when he came to work for Edward and I. He quickly became indispensible as an aid and a friend. My holidays in Bolivar remain among my most treasured memories. It was good to read that he had a life full of achievement and satisfaction, after the events that shook us all. We are both so sorry to hear of John's passing. We attended school with him at Harpers Ferry. He was an outstanding individual and I'm sure he will be greatly missed by many people.We last saw him, last year, at our annual alumni dinner and dance. He always came back to his old home town and spent time with his friends. Our condolescense to all his family.

Becky, So sorry to get the call that Jack had passed away. I have so many fond memories of past times spent with Jack after Bill and I found we were all at Cornell together. Jason and Amanda, still remember Jack opening the telescope for them on one of our visits.They were thrilled. I am sorry that I didn't continue the visits with you both after Bill past away.
