Karen, I am thinking of you and your mom and the memories come rushing back to me as if we are hanging out on your back porch. I too remember her wit and independent will.She shared recipes with me and cooked me lots of great food.You were my best buddy growing up and will never forget all those good times.I am certain that you were there for her and I know that your heart is aching for this loss.I know too that you have been a great role model for your girls,by showing loving kind care.My thoughts are with you and with Emma.What a special person.

To the Mercer family,I'm so sorry for the loss of Mrs. Mercer. I didn't know her well, but I remember her coming to band concerts during my junior high and high school days. I had the privilege of going to school with Mrs. Mercer's daughter, Margaret. And most recently I have had the privilege of renewing a friendship with Karen Mercer.Mrs. Mercer leaves behind a legacy of honorable children and grandchildren. Her grandson, Lance Corporal Eli Tice, has been an inspiration to so many, even those who have yet to meet him.God bless the Mercer family during this difficult time.Dave Kelly
