I knew of Bob's passing shortly after it happened but I am just now seeing this for the first time. I worked at the PRT from 1979 to 1988 and was sorry to hear of his passing. He was a good guy.

My thoughts and prayers are with those that Bob held so dear, he fought a great fight. On August 18th, the world and the PRT lost a great person, he devoted his life to making the PRT a better place, and that will be his legacy, but to me for the last 26 years he was a wonderful boss, mentor and most of all a great friend. I am so thankful that thanks to Deb I was able to be "in touch" with him until the end and he never had to doubt how much I valued him as a person and friend as well as a boss. I will miss him more than I can say, love ya Bob, and I pray you rest in peace, and am so thankful for all the time you were in my life...

My condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Robert Hendershot. His presence at the MPRT and within our lives will be missed. In the short time in which I had an opportunity to work with Bob he was always helpful and I have a deep respect for his life’s work. While most do not know the history of the MPRT many of those who do considered Bob to be one of the crucial team members which developed, deployed and maintained one of the most unique transportation systems in the world. I am still realizing how far reaching his impact was on the industry and have received several phone calls from contacts all over the country regarding his passing. My prayers are with you during this difficult time and Bob will always be remembered.

My sympathies are extended to Bob's family on your loss. Mobility around WVU and Morgantown would be much different had Bob not been a guiding force in making our world a better place. My prayer is that Bob has found peace.
