Dorothy Jo Ann Woodyard, 81, of Morgantown passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.Jo Ann was born on October 25, 1928, the daughter of Jean Karl Woodyard and Josephine Johnson Woodyard. Jo Ann graduated from Newark High School in 1946 and went to work for the Ohio Power Electric Company, she then became a Reservationist for Trans World Airline in Columbus, Ohio. She later transferred to Pittsburgh and then to the TWA office in Chicago, Illinois. After retiring from TWA she moved to Morgantown, West Virginia. Her favorite pastime was golf and in her early years she won many tournaments. She was a member of Suncrest United Methodist Church.Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jean Karl Woodyard, Jr. (Woody) and Richard Harold Woodyard. Jo Ann is survived by her sister Marjorie (Bill) Denny, her nieces Holly (Bill) Mattingly of Morgantown, Wendy Denny, Melody Matthews, Mary Day, Susanne Hollar, Rita Hollar, Carol Wilson and two nephews John Woodyard and Curtis Woodyard sixteen great nieces and nephews also survive Jo Ann.Hastings Funeral Home provided cremation services. The family will receive friends at the Suncrest United Methodist Church from 2-3 p.m. on Thursday, May 13 with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00p.m with Rev. Tim W. Halloran and Rev. William R. Kinsey officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Parish Health Ministry or the Prayer Quilt Ministry of Suncrest United Methodist Church, 479 Van Voorhis Road, Morgantown, WV 26505. Interment will occur at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Newark, Ohio.
