Obituary of Albert Scudiere

Albert Conrad Scudiere Sr., 91, of Western Avenue passed away on July 26, 2009 at home after a long illness.He was born on July 17, 1918 in Worthington, WV son of the late Pasquale & Louise Scudiere. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Romino Scudiere, son Albert Jr. (Albie) & wife Janna of Morgantown, daughter Mary Beth Schriner & husband Gene of West Palm Beach, Florida, grandchildren Alison Scudiere Gile & husband Merritt of Peoria, Arizona, Jennifer Scudiere Gartin & husband Garth of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kelly, Kurt & Keith Schriner of West Palm Beach, Florida & great-granddaughter Giovanna Scudiere Gile of Peoria, Arizona.He was preceded in death by his brother Pete Scudiere & sisters, Theresa Ezze, Sunny Romano, Lorraine Paige & Jeannette Schrader.Albert, with his brother-in-law Mike Romano, started American Dry Cleaners in 1939 where he continued to work until his retirement.He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army, a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, the B.P.O. Elks, Morgantown Touchdown Club, Mountaineer Athletic Club & The Beau Monde Dance Club.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown from 2-5 & 7-9pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2009. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 PM Wednesday in the funeral home. On Thursday, July 30, 2009, Mr. Scudiere will be moved to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, One Guthrie Lane, Morgantown where visitation will continue from 11am until 12 Noon. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 Noon in the church with Father Leon Alexander as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Maryâs Peace Garden Mausoleum in Star City.The family would especially like to thank his caregivers, Susanna & Candy, for their dedication & loving care.
