Obituary of Shirley Mae McIntyre

Calling all angels! A new angel has been called home! Shirley Mae McIntyre, 65, of Newburg, WV, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, January 1, 2013 at her home. She was born November 14, 1947 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Everett Warren Stone, and Mary Jane Mayola Lambert Stoneof Newburg. She was a graduate of the former Newburg High School. Shirley worked as a Nurse's Assistant for the Madison House and Preston Memorial Hospital. In her younger days, she was a model for Bobbie Brooks Clothing. Shirley never met a stranger, ever. No matter what, she had a kind word to say like "God bless you," or "have a blessed day." She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. Survivors include her husband, Robert Howard "Bob" McIntyre; three children, Wendy Kight of Morgantown, Robert A. McIntyre and his wife Donna of Rivesville, WV and Robin McIntyre of Morgantown; one grandson, Robert Asher McIntyre; two brothers, Michael W. Stone and his wife Thelma of Morgantown, and Everett Allen Stone of Morgantown; many nieces and nephews and her best friend, Eudora Smith of Newburg. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Kelley Christopher McIntyre. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Sunday, January 6th from 2-6 PM and again on Monday, January 7th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor John Henry officiating.
