Obituary of Joseph Bezjak

Joseph Bezjak, 83, of Linnehurst St., Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013
He was born in Sunshine, PA on January 30, 1929, a son of the late Shandor Bezjak and the late Rose (Balaban) Bezjak.
Survivors include two daughters, Mark Clark and her husband Kevin with whom he made his home, and Rose Barker and her husband Bruce of Mannington; several grandchildren including Rebekah James and her husband SFC Charles James, Jonah Clark, Sarah Lynch, Bruce Allen Barker II, Joshua Barker, Seth Barker, Ray Bezjak, Sheri Bezjak, Joseph E. Bezjak, Shanna Clark and Taylar Clark; several great-grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Bezjak and his wife Margaret "Lil" Bezjak of Morgantown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Trompak Bezjak on February 8, 2005; two sons, Joseph John Bezjak and infant Mark Stephen Bezjak; several brothers including Steve, Frank, Merko, Carl, Mitchell, George, Nick and Pete Bezjak; and three sisters, Francis Gray, Mary Worch and Josephine Bezjak.
Joe was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having retired as a Technical Sergeant after nearly 23 years of service during the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for the Department of Natural Resources and the Geological Survey stocking ponds and doing water checks. He loved fishing, hunting, and being in the outdoor. He attended St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church for most of his life.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown from 5-8 PM Thursday, January 10th and again on Friday, January 11th from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM with Father Michael Hustzi officiating. Interment will follow in East Oak Grove Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded at the graveside.
A Panachida service will be held at 7:30 PM Thursday evening in the funeral home to conclude the visitation.
