Obituary of Phyllis Evelyn Statler

Phyllis Evelyn Statler, 90, formerly of New Jersey Ave., Westover, passed away Sunday morning, February 17, 2013, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born June 29, 1922 in the Cassville area, a daughter of the late William Davies and the late Gertrude Booth Davies. Survivors include four children, William D. Statler of Core, Robert L. Statler and his wife Dorothy of Pentress, Genevieve Morris of Delaware and Clarence E. "Butch" Statler and his wife Patricia of McCurdysville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Donnie Davies and his wife, Mary Ann of Morgantown and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sixteen siblings. Throughout her years, she worked for many different restaurants in the Morgantown are. Most recently, she was the owner and operator of several rental properties in Morgantown. She was involved with the Red Hat Society and the Pibiam Sisters. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Wednesday, February 20th from 5-8PM and again on Thursday, February 21st from 10AM until the time of the service at 11AM with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in the Lawnwood Cemetery.
