Obituary of Herminia Charmatz

Herminia Charmatz, 93, Morgantown, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 at her residence. Herminia was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico on June 28, 1919, a daughter of Ana Reyes and Rosendo Hernandez. She was survived by her son and caregiver, Kenny Charmatz; two sisters, Ana Lydia Colon and Edelmira Martins; two brothers, Ismael Hernandez and Roberto Reyes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacques Charmatz; four sisters, Victoria Solis, Laura Ruiz, Arcadia Rojas, and Modesta Hernandez; and by six brothers, Mario Hernandez, Eliseo Hernandez, Alejandro Hernandez, Rosendo Hernandez, Jesus Hernandez, and Roberto Hernandez. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Wednesday, February 27 from 4:00-7:00 PM and again on Thursday, February 28 from 12:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM with Father Mike Hadaway officiating. In honoring Mrs. Charmatz's wishes, she will be cremated following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions may be made in Herminia's name to Animal Friends of Northern WV, 252 Brewer Rd., Morgantown, WV 26508 .
