Obituary of Paul Douglas Rhodes

Paul Douglas Rhodes, 74, of Uniontown, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Mapleshire Nursing Facility in Morgantown. He was born March 4, 1939, a son of the late Paul H. and Helen Victoria Kelly Rhodes. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Leonelli Rhodes, who passed away on October 30, 2000.
Mr. Rhodes was a graduate of the Fairchance Georges High School and served in the United States Army. He was the owner of the Dairy Queen in Uniontown as well as Conn Realty. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed spending time in his garden and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was also a loving grandfather.
Mr. Rhodes is survived by three daughters, Teri Lynn Joyce and her husband Richard of Washington, PA, Leanne Rhodes Phillis and her husband Randy Putt of Uniontown, PA, and Paula Krezesinski and her husband Andrew of Huntersville, NC; ten grandchildren, Trey, Bailey, and Cole Phillis, Gianna and Ava Krzesinski, John Arne, Laura and Michael Joyce, and Adam and Chelsey Putt; brother, Kevin Kelly Rhodes; sister in law, Rita Palya and her husband Larry; and two nieces, Lisa Fordyce and her husband Rick and Laura Rosendale and her husband Richard.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is also preceded in death by an infant son.
In keeping with the wished of Mr. Rhodes, cremation services have been performed by the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown. Friends and family will be received for a memorial service at 5:00 pm on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Sam's Restaurant, 208 Morgantown Ave., Uniontown, PA. Private interment will take place at the Sylvan Heights Cemetery in Uniontown.
