Larry George Davis, 67, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at his home after an extended illness with family by his side.
He was born June 11, 1946 in Monongalia County, WV; a son of the late George Bela and Hazel Margaret Hall Davis.
He was a member of the Burns Chapel United Methodist Church.
Larry was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a former employee of Sterling Faucet and G. E. Chemical. He retired as a Captain from the Morgantown Fire Department in 2000 after 25 years of service. He was a member of the VFW Post 548. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dana Mae Dailey Davis, his children Renay Davis McDilda and husband Bill of Morgantown and Jason Davis and wife Amy of Fairmont; grandchildren Hunter and Trevor McDilda and Brianna and Maverick Davis; brother Rev. Delmar Davis; his step-mother, Naomi Davis and half- sister; Trinka Molisee and husband Mark.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Wanda Davis and his father-in-law, Thomas Dailey.

Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown Friday, July 19 from 5-8p.m. Visitation will continue at Burns Chapel Church on Saturday, from 9am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00p.m. with Pastor Rick Stackpole officiating. Interment will follow in Nicholson Chapel Cemetery. Military honors will be provided at the cemetery.
