Obituary of Roberta Edna Hobbs

Roberta Edna (Betty) Wyllie Hobbs, 93, passed away on August 1, 2013 at Golden Living Center, Morgantown, WV. She was born July 8, 1920 in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Albert Robert and Edna Leo (Nielsen) Wyllie. She was the oldest of six children. She was a 1938 graduate of Sellersville High School in Perkasie, PA. In 1939 she moved to California and in 2005 she moved to Morgantown, WV. She married Gerald Robert Hobbs Sr. in December 1943 in San Francisco, CA. She is survived by two sons: Gerald Robert Hobbs Jr. and wife Lynn of Morgantown, and David Wyllie Hobbs of Sonora, CA. Grandsons Jeffrey Charles Hobbs (Erin), Boone, NC, Brett Robert Hobbs (Lindsay), Santa Monica, CA, and James Hobbs, Sonora, CA. Granddaughter Andrea Marie Leavy, Modesto, CA. Great-grandsons Diego Cordova and Christian Leavy, Modesto, CA. Sister Jeanne Everett, Manteca, CA. Brothers Robert Wyllie (Lois), Quakertown, PA and Charles Wyllie (Dawn), Perkasie, PA. Brother-in-law Merton Stevens, Eastham, MA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Robert Hobbs Sr in 1970, grandson Joseph David Hobbs in 2005, and sisters Dorthea Stevens and Lorraine Lawn. The family wishes to express special thanks to her caregiver Lisa Rouse of Visiting Homemakers and all the nurses and staff at Golden Living Center for their compassionate care. In following Betty's wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes will be spread at the family farm in Perkasie, PA.
