Obituary of Carl Eugene DuBois

Carl Eugene DuBois, 92, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013.
Carl was born on June 12, 1921, in Star City, WV; the son of the late Carl and Lottie (Brewer) DuBois.
He was a WWII veteran, having served in the 922 Field Artillery, 97th Infantry Division. His tour of duty included the European Theatre and post war occupation of Japan.
On February 20, 1943 he married Kathryn Becilla, who preceded him in death October 9, 2007. Together
they had three children, Carolyn Galli of Ellicott City, MD; David DuBois (Kay) of Hershey, PA and Gary DuBois (Deborah) of Waynesburg, PA.
Also surviving are five grandchildren; Jennifer Galli, Christina Maggard (Christopher), David DuBois (Jodi), Justin DuBois (Penelope) and Andrea DuBois; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Jacob DuBois.
Carl retired in 1985 from Consol Energy after 30 years of service in the coal industry. He worked at Bunker, Humphrey #7 and Osage mines and was a proud member of the UMWA, District 31, Local 4043.
Carl was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Star City where he served as a lector and usher.
The family wants to express deep appreciation to Robin St Clair and Terrie Cottrell for their loving and dedicated care of Carl.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Sunday, August 18 from 1-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. A Scriptural Wake Service will be recited Sunday at 7:30p.m., to conclude the evening visitation. Visitation will continue on Monday, August 19 at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Star City, from 9am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10am with Father John V. DiBacco as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Union Cemetery. Military honors will be provided at the cemetery.
