Obituary of Gladys Virginia Moore

Gladys Virginia Moore, 88, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at her residence.
She was born May 4, 1925 in Fayette County, PA, a daughter of the late Dailey A. and Mary M. Casteel, and the late George Robert Johnson.
Survivors include her two sons, Joe V. Moore and Scott L. Gibson both of Morgantown; many beloved cousins in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Maryland; a vast extended family including two of her best friends, Vivian R. McNemar and Phyllis J. Gray, and a nephew, Scott M. Calvert.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Thomas A. Johnson, Jane A. Calvert, and William A. Casteel; three nephews, Terry A. Calvert, Douglas E. Calvert and Eugene L. Calvert.
Gladys was a lifelong member of the Church of the Brethren. She loved shopping, going out to eat and traveling - particularly to Las Vegas, and also Nashville. She took great pride in being a lady, making sure she always looked her best. She was very particular about making sure that her hair and nails were always done and looked their best.
She loved spending time with her faithful companions, her dogs Chester and Corky, and her cat, Honey.
She was almost child-like in her adoration of the holiday season. She loved opening presents and being with her family.
Gladys will be remembered as a very giving, loving, adventurous and generous soul, who will be missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Friday, August 23 from 1:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at-4:00 PM. Following the funeral service, Gladys's wishes for cremation will be honored and inurnment will follow in East Oak Grove Cemetery, Morgantown.
