Deepest sympathy to the family of Ruth Dille Chittum and especially Janet, Rebecca, and Mary. We knew Ruth as always a person of sharp wit, keen intellect and forboding to those who first encountered her and later upon knowing her realized her friendly demeanor and personality sprinkled with a great sense of humor. In her position at WVU, Ruth held court presiding over her realm in the WVU College of Business and Economics for over 30 year ruling with strictness, fairness and yes compassion and that made her a most reliable resource person for many to consult . Talented as a singer with Sweet Adelines , she and her group providied musical entertainment to many in the Morgantown area many residing in care facilities who were very appreciative of her talent and that of the singing troupe.Ruth set an example for many to emulate with her preciseness and accuracy. Ever mindful of her historical and genealogical heritage, she always kept family relationships near to her heart. I also had the opportunity of knowing her brother David and his children. Keeping all members of her family in our thoughts and prayers at this time, may you gain comfort from your sahred memories .
