Obituary of Evan William Eddy
Please share a memory of Evan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Evan William Eddy, 72, of Pisgah Community of Bruceton Mills, passed away Thursday, October 31st, at Ruby Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Evan was born on February 14, 1941 in Canyon; a son of the late Robert Franklin and Nancy Miriam Russell Eddy.
Evan, along with his father and brother owned and operated General Paving Company and ED-E Coal Company. They were responsible for the paving of hundreds of miles of streets and roads throughout West Virginia.
In 1974, Evan established P.A.S.S, Inc. as a supplier of parts and supplies to the coal industry and for heavy equipment and trucks. He later expanded to add lawn and garden equipment, becoming one of the leading Stihl dealerships in the state.
Evan enjoyed anything mechanical. He loved taking old machinery and making it like new again. He was somewhat of a diesel nut. Who else but Evan would put a diesel engine in a corvette?
He enjoyed old things and recently took a trip to the Henry Ford Museum. He was most excited in his first ride in a Model T Ford.
Evan is survived by his loving wife Mary Hardesty Eddy, his two children Traci Dawn Eddy Spohn and spouse Toby, Robert Eddy and spouse Chasity, stepson Eric Jason Brown and stepdaughter Christina Suzette Brown.
Also surviving are his adorable grandchildren, Elizabeth, Garret, and Katie Spohn; and Parker and Cooper Eddy. One of his most precious joys was watching his grandchildren running and playing on his property in Pisgah and taking them for rides in his ATV and backhoe.
He is also survived by his former wife Mary May Eddy.
In addition to his parents, Evan was preceded in death by his brother Fenton Eddy.
