I was just 17 years old, and had gotten a job at Hagan's ice cream parlor on High St. (now, Boston Beanery), and Mom would come in and check on me, as I made ice cream sundaes. Mom always liked the way I made her favorite banana split. One day I was put on the short order grill and I moaned to Mom, "I can't do that''. And she said , "Sure you can just throw those hamburgers on the grill and when they aren't red anymore flip them over, slap them on a bun and serve, you can do it ." Well, I listened to my Mother, and boy oh boy! I did it. One day, Mom came in had her banana split, and I was off work. She invited me to go with her to Merle Norman cosmetics shop, which was two doors down from Hagan's, "My friend wants to give us facials". I must say, I had never seen my Mother wear anything other than lipstick.
This nice lady gave us mud masks, of which we had never experienced before, and Mom did not like this at all. When the final step came, she put make-up on us then eye shadow, eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, rouge, lipstick and powder. We enjoyed it, thanked her and left. Outside, Mom said, "It was all good but not all this make-up, my friend did a good job, but this is not for us let's hurry home the back street maybe we won't see anyone we know, and we can wash all this off". We laughed all the way home, she was always so funny without trying to be. And I never saw her wear anything but lipstick after that, because she didn't need it , her skin was flawless, never a blemish or wrinkle or anything that would have to be hidden with make-up. All of her daughters inherited her wonderful glowing skin, as we were told by others. Not long after this I left for France. As years went by, we used to talk on the phone for hours, since I lived in California. We reminisced for hours about all sorts of things, and this was one thing we remembered and still laughed about! With many wonderful thoughts of you, your daughter, love Sarah.

She always took care of me and kept me close to her, took me to play bingo where she let me go outside to play @ the door and buy me hot dogs and goodies for me! LOL took me shopping, eat speghetti, laid out in the Sun with me and Got dark!:) lol I Loved And Cherished Her Very much!! I miss her but I know that she's in peace, hair styled, n back to her beautiful kept self!!

Dear Mother, It's so hard to believe that 95 years flew by so quickly ! You accomplished quite a lot in those years and left your mark in this century. The children you left behind will always reflect on you and the ones that are with you now are happy to see you again : ) When the grief subsides we will then rejoice because JOY comes in the morning and JESUS is our Morning Star ! We always appreciated you,Mom. May you enjoy the music of the Angels, because you enjoyed the music of praise to GOD while you were here on earth. When you see your bottle of tears and how much it stored, you will know just how much our Lord JESUS carried you your whole life long!!! Dear Mom, you finally complete this journey of illusion here on earth, and on to the reality of everlasting life. You are happy now that you have made it to the Real World of Our Father in Heaven, with the help of His Son, Jesus. You Ran the Race, as it says in Hebrew 12:1. Your suffering is it's end, so death where is your sting, grave where is your victory? As it says in 1 Corinthians 15:55. You are now united in the Arms of all those you have missed for so long. What a glorious reunion. The Angels rejoice that you, at last, are at Home. These past ninety-five years were but a blink of God's eye, but you enjoyed it with the energy that was uniquely you. The children that you leave behind will miss you very much, but your husband, children, and grandson that reached their destination before you were happily waiting for you with open arms. You endured, now you can enjoy the fruits of your labor. Joy, truly did come for you in the morning. As the word of God states, "Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy comes in the morning" as it says in Psalm 30:5. Now, that the silver cord is broken, you are home. "Then shall the silver cord, by which soul and body were wonderfully fastened together be loosed, that sacred knot untied, at last, to be back with the Creator" as it says in Ecclesiastes 12:6. We can't see past the Curtain but now YOU can! You have received your Crown of Life, that you often spoke of to me. "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because having stood the test, that person will receive the Crown of Life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him." As it says in James 1:12. So long Mother, until we meet again, you are truly Blessed with Amazing Grace. Love in Christ, Your Daughter, Sarah Jane
