Obituary of Lester French Miller

Lester F. "Buster" Miller, 73, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Monongalia General Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born November 22, 1940 in Morgantown, a son of the late Jesse French Miller and Vivian Clara Hooton Miller. He was a Methodist by faith. Buster was a retired coal miner at the Peabody Coal Company and was a member of the UMWA Local 1570. In his free time, he enjoyed taking his children deep sea fishing and fishing locally, gardening, watching his granddaughter play softball, and watching old movies with his dog, Fluffy. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Joyce Burns Miller; son, Jesse French Miller and his wife Misty Spahr Miller of Fairmont; daughter, Pamela Sue Bean and her husband John Michael of Morgantown; granddaughter, Lynsi Nichole Bean; brother, William R. Miller of South Carolina; and sister, Mary Jane Reynolds of North Carolina. In addition to his parents, Buster was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Onda Stutts, Eleanor Johnson, Dale Miller, Donald Miller, and three siblings that passed away at a young age. The family would like to thank the Mon General Nursing Staff, Dr. Jerome Johnson, Dr. Mark Johnson, Dr. Maxwell in ICU and the nurses in the Mon General ICU for all of their special care. In keeping with Buster's wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to the Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Hastings Funeral Home from 12 Noon until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mike Argabrite officiating.
