Obituary of Mary Lea Trompak

Mary Lea (Harper) Trompak, 55 of Bruceton Mills, passed away Sunday morning, January 26, 2014 in the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH after a courageous fight against cancer. She was born May 5, 1958 in Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Carl R. Harper and the late Laura Isabell Wilson Harper. Survivors include her husband, Charles A. Trompak, owner of Trompak Electric; her siblings, Carl E. (Gene) Harper and Sandra Shannon, Charles A. Harper and Patricia Harper all of Morgantown; Richard G. Harper and Deborah Harper of Masontown, WV, Sheila A. Myers and Charles Myers of Myrtle Beach, SC, James F. Harper and Candice Austin, and George S. (Steve) Harper and Sandra Harper all of Morgantown, and Caron I Gladfelter and James Gladfelter of Burnsville, WV; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sharon Harper. Mary was a 1976 graduate of University High School who worked as an accountant / bookkeeper with the former General Woodworking in Morgantown. Having been well-known in the electrical field, Mary was considered to be one of the best electricians in the country. In her spare time, she loved traveling - having seen every state, including Alaska and Hawaii, in the United States, Mexico, the Bahamas and a majority of Western Canada. She had been planning a rail and boat cruise to Alaska with her sister in the near future. She loved being in the outdoors, camping, and fishing. She was very proud of the fact that recently, she caught her first Pacific Blue Marlin. Mary was completely devoted to her husband, family and friends. She was an extremely good homemaker and loved her cats. She was always willing to give her time and energy to anyone who needed it. She always thought of everyone else first and put her own needs last. Family and friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Friday, January 31st from 6-8 PM and again on Saturday from 12 Noon until the time of the service at 2 PM in the funeral home, when Catholic Funeral Rites will be accorded by Deacon Trinity Knight of St. John University Parish.
