Obituary of Dorris Gene Rose

Dorris Gene Herron Rose, formerly of Brookhaven, was welcomed into Jesus' arms on February 1, 2014. Born October 24, 1927 in Glenville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles Doy & Versie O. Saffle Herron. She was a member of the Morgantown Christian & Missionary Church, and retired from WVU. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Joda Junior Rose; a brother, Ray Herron; sister, Hazel Messenger, and her grandson, Daniel A. Rose. She is survived by her sons and spouses, Larry A. and Barbara Strawser Rose, David and Deborah Park Rose, Gary (Randy) Rose; two granddaughters and their spouses, Melinda and Jon McGee and Jodi and Tim Savage; three grandsons and spouses, David Rose, Jr. and Melissa, Matthew and Jessica Rose, Travis and Laura Rose; six great grandsons, Trey, Ashton, and Colton Savage, Jonathan McGee, Matthew and Cody Rose; two great granddaughters, Reagan McGee and Annalyn Rose; a sister, Elizabeth Bishover; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Mary and Hospice for their gentle care and concern, and the staff at Mapleshire for their compassionate care of our loves one over these years. Friends and family will be received at the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 9 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
