Dear Midge, Spence, Janice, and Christine - So many years have passed since we have been in touch. My mom passed away in May, and one evening recently I was home alone and particularly missing her and just reminiscing about Morgantown. I looked online for Morgantown news, and learned of Dr. Graham's passing. I'm saddened for your loss and just wanted you to know that your family has been in my thoughts and prayers during these days.
Reading the notice, I see what a remarkable man he was. Also, I see how your family has exponentially grown! A lot happens in 40 years, doesn't it? Actually,
Alan and I are grandparents now and we have a beautiful baby granddaughter!
I pray that God blesses each of you with comfort, grace and peace that passes understanding during these days.
Most sincerely,
Terri (West) McMahan

I was very sad to hear of the death of Dr Graham. I attended dental school in the late 70's and was always sure that it was because of him that I was ever admitted to dental school. That summer before I started, I had to take physics in summer school. I was ill prepared and struggled after being out of school for a few years. I would go to his office and plead my case and concerns and he would encourage me to do my best but would never tell me for sure if I had made the cut for admittance. Finally at my last tearful meeting, he told me that I had been accepted but had to pass that physics class.
All through dental school, I had the utmost respect for him. Besides always being encouraging, he had a quiet and gentle professional way about him that would always hold him in high regard with his peers.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. William L. Graham. What a wonderful man; great dentist, dental school educator/administrator, citizen, family and Christian man. He was a great example for us all! I remember him particularly in the early days in dental school. As freshmen students we had Dr. Graham (chairman of the Oral Diagnosis/Roentgenology Dept.) introducing us to the world of dental diagnoses and patient relations. I have always remembered his "shades of gray" diagnosis lecture comments.Over the years, Dr. Graham helped classmates with personal matters as well (myself included). I am very grateful for his help. He had a great part in helping WVU School of Dentistry become established in the late 1950's and I am glad to see his picture displayed in the memorial section of the dental school. Dr.Graham made the WVU School of Dentistry, WV and the United States a better place. He left a great heritage! Thank you Dr. Graham and family. Dr.Kelvin Feather WVU Dent Class 1977
