Shannon Beth Adams, 34, of Colorado Ave., Westover, passed away Thursday evening, August 28, 2014 at her residence with her family by her side after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Morgantown on April 24, 1980, the daughter of Robert G. Adams and Brenda Diane (Frazier) Adams with whom she made her home.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her brother, Robert Matthew Adams; her grandmothers, Bessie A. McCardle and Theestle Frazier, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Alvin Wayne McCardle and John L. Frazier.
Shannon loved her two dogs and cat. She loved to bowl, fish and spend time with her family and friends.
She worked as a party hostess for children’s birthday parties at AMF Norfolk (VA) where she was loved and respected by all whom she met. She also worked as a bagger at the Norfolk Naval Station Commissary where she made many lifelong friends.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Tuesday, Sept. 2nd from 4:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 6:30 PM. with Pastor Douglas Miller officiating. Following the funeral service, Shannon’s wishes for cremation will be honored, and her ashes will be scattered by her family in Virginia at a later date.
