Bernie was a first cousin to my Mother, Jeanne Trevillian. Throughout his life he was a good friend to both my parents, especially during their final retirement years in Morgantown. Beyond that, Bernie and Dorothy showed special kindness to my kids, Erin and Trevi, whenever they visited their grandparents in Morgantown, entertaining them, letting them swim in the pool, etc. I will miss discussing family history and politics with Bernie, a lot, whenever I come back through Morgantown.. He was one of those special folks about whom I can truthfully say: "He was a good man." Heart felt condolences to Dorothy and Godspeed.

It is with great sympathy and respect in the passing of Mr. Bernie Simons -- A GREAT Man!! To the entire Simons Family, I wish you many blessings and great health and happiness. He was truly a very special Man to grow up around and be part of some great baseball teams....I will always have fond memories of those sports teams and cherish the rest of my life. I am a better person for having him as a role model as a young man and growing up in Morgantown he was a great community leader.

Dear Dorothy and Family,
Pat and I would like to express our sorrow at Bernie's death. He was always a gentleman. We greatly appreciated the time he spent helping you, Dorothy, in coaching Erica and her team to 3 basketball state championships. I am sure you will miss him terribly.
