ROBERT WAYNE BRUNER, 87 of Morgantown went to meet his Lord and Savior face to face on Wednesday, January 7, 2015
He was born December, 13, 1927, a son of John Russell Bruner and Rose Schelder Bruner.
Bob retired from Sterling Faucet after 31 years.
He was a member of The Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of both Morgantown and Elkins, where he taught Sunday School and served as an Elder and on the Governing Board. He was a longtime supporter of Gideon International and Campus Crusade for Christ.
He and his wife, Wilma, volunteered for several years with MAPS missionary associates, traveling around the country to offer services and assist U.S Missionaries. Bob was responsible, both directly and indirectly for bringing many people to a Saving Knowledge of Jesus Christ. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to spend time in the woods and by a stream with friends and family.
He is survived by his sweet wife, Wilma Copley Squires Bruner, sons Arlys, ‘Art’ (Cye Ann) Bruner of Westover, WV, Bradley (Debbie) Bruner of Arthurdale,WV and Douglas Hall of Morgantown, WV. daughters Pamela Coe (David) of Cumming, GA and Mary Grace Mansfield (John) of Pittsburgh, PA, 10 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition, he is also survived by his dedicated step children; Alvey Squires of Wheeling, WV, Ed Squires of Lexington, KY and Rita Squires Heckman of Brewster, MA
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Lay Bruner,
2 brothers, Earl and Dallas Bruner and 1 Sister, Winifred Cowand, and his buddy (dog), Gnat.
Friends and family will be received at the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Friday, January 9th from 6-9 PM. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Saturday, January 10th from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM with Pastor Douglas Miller officiating. Interment will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
