Elva Helen Pugh Fowler, 82, of Sugar Maple Hill Rd., Morgantown, passed away early Thursday morning, January 8, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born in Morgantown on May 2, 1932, a daughter of the late Wilbur Carl Pugh and the late Evaline Pearl (Wolfe) Pugh. Survivors include her husband of more than 64 years, Edgar Clayton Fowler, Sr.; three children, Edgar Clayton Fowler, Jr. and his wife Beth of Bruceton Mills, Patrick Fowler of Morgantown and Roger Fowler and his wife Rose Mary of Morgantown; her grandchildren, Jeramia Fowler and his wife Noel, Felicia Young and her husband Aaron, Dustin Fowler, Meghan Fisher and her husband matthew, Wyatt Fowler, Brittany Fowler and Sommer Fowler; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Lora Belle Lightner and her husband Denver of Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Pugh of Morgantown and Dorothy Whipkey of Cheat Neck; three brothers-in-law, Willis “Butch” Fowler and his wife Sharon of Cheat Neck, Eldon Fowler of Cheat Neck and Emil Fowler of Pisgah; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Karen, David and Gerald; a granddaughter, Elizabeth; a brother, Dayne Pugh; and two brothers-in-law, Ted Fowler and Lester Whipkey. Mrs. Fowler was a graduate of University High School. She worked as a cashier at Giant Eagle, and had also worked at Mont Chateau Lodge, Dottie’s Craft Shop, and was a nurse’s aide at the former St. Vincent Pallotti Hospital. She loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Sunday, January 11th from 1-5 PM and again on Monday, January 12th from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service with Pastor Shawn Frasher officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Cemetery, Cheat Lake. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the 10th floor and the 7th floor Hospice Unit of Ruby Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Mrs. Fowler.
