Reading of Ada Mae's passing awakened memories of when my parents were young and families were closer. Ada Mae was fun for us children because she was smart and she had a lot of energy. I liked her a lot and after she moved to Morgantown always hoped the best for her. Looks like she had a good life and a wonderful family. RIP Ada Mae.

I am so sorry to hear of Ada Mae's passing. I have sweet memories of her that go way back to the Everly Brothers and "Wake Up Little Susie." Ada Mae worked for my dad in Oakland for many years but was a good friend to my mother and the entire family for generations now. There was never an unkind word, that I can recall, from or about her. I had lost touch with her after living here in SC for so many years, but I remember one of the last times I spent time with her and Bill was after landing at the Morgantown airport atop a mountain with a very short runway and a terrified pregnant wife. Ada Mae and Bill picked us up and drove us over the mountains to Oakland. I know there were others times we saw each other briefly, but none as memorable. But mostly I remember her from the early years. The fun years in the flower shop with brother Billy and earlier at the office when her face would light up when one of the Mance kids would drop in. She was a great big sister to us all. I miss her.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Ada when I first started at the library and she was so dedicated and such a hard worker. She taught me everything I know today and I attribute my work ethic here to her. She was always willing to help anyone and put the patrons first. Everyone liked and admired her. She had a great sense of humor and made working a pleasure. She will always be remembered by the staff here with fond memories. I hope the good memories will help you through this difficult time.
Sincerely
Susanne Rasmussen

May the family find comfort in loving memories, and in knowing that God is "close to those that are broken at heart; and he saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18) Our loving Creator, Jehovah God, has promised to soon "swallow up death forever...and wipe the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25:8) With deepest sympathy. We remember Ada Mae very well. We used to visit her and her family when they lived on Bethlehem Road and then in the large house in Loch Lynn. We always had a good time with them and had our first taste of pizza at their farm house. We treasure the good memories.
