Thinking of the family and wished we could of been there yesterday. Everyone has great memories of Uncle Pat. He lived a full life and brought so many wonderful things to this world that we know, but the best thing of all was his children. Beautiful and loving, smart and caring, and they can pass on the memories of their father to their children. I remember Pat mostly for his and dad's friendship. They weren't just brothers, they were close friends, and I know that dad is feeling it really hard. He is the last of the siblings and it sort of brings an extra sadness along with losing Uncle Pat. God bless...

I will always remember Uncle Pat the one time I was lucky to be in his midst. It was August of 1970 and I was 13. He took me into the woods and taught me how to fish on the Potomac River, shoot a rifle correctly - along with David, his son, and took me to Washington DC for the first time. He was generous, kind and curious. Those two weeks in West Virginia will be with me to my grave. RIP Uncle Pat and I hope you have a good sized trout on the end of the line. You nephew, John Veevaert

As a retired Verizon employee, I remember Pat very well. He is the one who hired me on the 20th of March 1970. After my tour in the US Air Force as a communications maintenance person I was looking for a related job. I got in touch with Pat and submitted an application. After a few weeks of checking back with Pat he said you're going to keep after me till you get a job aren't you. I said yes. He said okay then you're hired. I retired after 37 years.
