Obituary of Brooks Few Lanham

Brooks Few Lanham, Jr., 78, of Morgantown passed away Monday, November 16, 2015, at Ruby Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Morgantown on February 28, 1937, the son of the late Brooks Few Lanham, Sr and Gertrude Evalene Pugh Lanham. He was a foreman with Consol Coal Company. Brooks was a member of the AF&AM Lodge #4, Morgantown Chapter #30, Morgantown Commandery#18, Morgantown Scottish Rite, Wheeling Scottish Rite Osiris Shrine, Mountaineer Patrol, Morgantown Shrine Club, Shriner’s Hospitals children’s transport, Monongalia County Reserve Deputy escorted many funerals in the Morgantown Area. Brooks is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ines Rodriguez Lanham; children, Terry Lanham and wife Patty of Charleston, SC, Douglas Lanham and wife Debra Bowers of Morgantown, Cheryl Ward-Cruz and husband James of McDonough, GA and Brooke Smith and husband Ted of Smithfield, PA; grandchildren, Jayme Isett, Jodi Lanham, Jessica Lanham, Chad Lanham, Nick Lanham, Cameron Lanham, Craig Lanham, Brieanne Lanham, Charles Racy Ward, Faith Ward and Nicole Smith; sister, Isabelle Lanham Martin and husband John of Tamaqua, PA. He is also survived by his uncle, James “Jimmy” Pugh of Over Cheat, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Wayne Lanham and sister, Kathryn L. Brown. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Friday, November 20th from 3-5 and 6-8p.m. The Morgantown Scottish Rite will conclude the evening visitation with ritualistic services. Visitation will continue on Saturday, November 21st from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00am with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The AF&AM Union Lodge #4 will perform Masonic graveside rites. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Erie Shriner’s Hospital, 1645 W. 8th Street, Erie Pa 16505.
