Frances W Gibson, 97, of Point Marion Rd., Morgantown, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015, at Golden Living Center.
She was born April 21, 1918 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Franklin P. and Cora T. Walker Crytser Hawkins.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker who loved to cook and bake. She loved to quilt and during her lifetime presented many quilts as gifts to her family. She received great joy by presenting her quilts as wedding gifts to members of her family. She enjoyed the visits of her family, especially the great-grandchildren who entertained her with their singing and talking. She also enjoyed genealogy.
She was an active member of the Eden United Methodist Church in Stewartstown where she directed many Vacation Bible Schools. Frances was an extremely caring person who always put the needs of others before her own. Her family was her life, and she knew no bounds in giving of herself to help her family and friends when in need.
She is survived by son, Clyde P. Gibson, Sr. of Bakersfield, CA; a son and daughter-in-law, Frederick A. and Janet Gibson of Morgantown; daughter, Wilma J. Gibson of Morgantown, daughter and son-in-law Ruth A. and John R. Lynch of Chambersburg, PA, brother, Lawrence and Betty Hawkins of Pt. Marion, PA; sister Bertha Hawkins of Golden Living Center, Uniontown, PA; grandchildren, Clyde, Jr. and Laura, Robert and Venus, Nicolette, Doug and Jennifer, Dustin and Maria, Eric, Brian and Lori, Wesley and Jenna, and several great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to both the staff of the Golden Living Center of Morgantown, especially the nurse's station, for their care and compassion during a difficult time. They would also like to thank Pastor Wanda Brosky who was faithful to visit Frances on a regular basis.
