Obituary of Evelyn Kathryn Salisbury

Evelyn Kathryn Little Schell Salisbury, 72, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Monongalia General Hospital. She was born in Cheat Lake on December 25, 1942, the daughter of the late Bryan and the late Myrtle Dewitt Little. Her father always said, when she was born, two of the oldest people in history, the stork and Santa Claus, got caught in his chimney at the same time. Evelyn graduated University High School in 1961. In 1960 she won state championship, in art, with a drawing of Pursglove #15 coal tipple. At age 40 she enrolled in Morgantown Beauty School. She then opened a beauty shop in her home. Evelyn was a member of Living by Faith Church, in Brookhaven. She played piano and sang and helped with Bible School every summer. She also belonged to the Red Hat Society (the purple Pansie's). Evelyn leaves behind her loving husband of 38 years, Richard F. Salisbury, Sr.; her loving son, Carl (Judy Hughes) Schell, Richard Jr. (Bev) Salisbury, Steve (Roxy) Salisbury, Tammy (Jeff) Warnick and Tim (Rhonda) Salisbury; grandchildren, Nathan, Cody and Nikki Schell, T.T., Johnathan, Lindsay, DeeAnna (Josh) Boyd, Darcie (Dustin) Hinkle, Gina (Derek) Field, Scotty Warnick, Bradley Warnick, Steven Barnett, Austin, Emily, Kali Salisbury, Racheal, Brooke, and Olivia Salisbury and 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Brown (Shirley) Little of Flint, Michigan, also her little, dog, Tinker and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her youngest son, Jeff Schell; daughter, Cindy Salisbury; granddaughter, Melody Dawn Warnick; sisters, Gertie Smith and Hazel Sanders, The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Mon General and Ruby Hospital for the good care and a special thank you to Dr. Saunders and Dr. Battin for their wonderful care. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown , Tuesday, December 15th from 4-7.p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Wednesday, December 16th from 10a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11a.m. with Rev. David Tomer officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery.
