Paul,
I just heard of your Mom's passing. When my mother died three years ago it meant a lot to me that you honored her with your remembrance. Reading of her accomplishments I realize Mary was one of the women that obviously set out to live a life of service and was one of the amazing do-ers that redefined roles for women. I know you are so proud of her. I just think of us young, having those nice times over at your house. Enjoying life. Three years after Mom passed I still am dis-oriented and rather unrooted. Give yourself lots of time and care. Thinking of you, Sarah

Having grown up with Mary Edith, from grade school through college, I have many happy memories of Mary Edith and her parents. Best of all visiting the farm and riding into town in John's truck. Getting ice cream on the way home was a special treat. We would also make homemade strawberry or peach ice cream; taking turns working the crank.

The American Red Cross would like to extend the warmest condolences to the family and friends of Mary Templeton. She was a integral member of the Capital Campaign Committee which raised $1.6 million to open a blood and bone Marrow center at WVU Medical Center in 1991. In addition to fundraising, she spent time volunteering at community blood drives assisting our staff and ensuring our blood donors were comfortable. Mary touched many lives in her personal and professional life and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Deepest sympathy,
Susan Shew, Volunteer Services Officer, West Virginia Region of the American Red Cross

My profound and deepest sympathies on the loss of my friend, and former colleague and mentor. She will be deeply missed. She served as a role model, was a pioneer in many respects and a philanthropist. She leaves behind a rich legacy!
Although unable to attend the remembrance (I will be out of the country), I will keep her and her family, especially Paul, in my thoughts and prayers.
