Shirley Sussan Morrison, 80, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday from Cardiac Arrest, March 19, 2016 at her home. She was born in Morgantown on January 5, 1936, the daughter of the late Charles Leroy Burns and Claudia Virginia (Dalton) Burns. She was a long standing member of Woodland United Methodist Church, having served as treasurer for many years. Shirley worked for 25 years for Kinnan's Farm Equipment and 32 years for Visiting Homemakers up until the day she died. In the 60+ years of working, she never missed a day of work. She was extremely dedicated and loyal. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge for many years. She is survived by sisters: Donna (Dennis) Channel, Joyce Miller, and Carolyn (Richard) Casseday, all of Morgantown; sister-in-law, Betty (Burns) King of Waynesburg; 9 nieces and nephews: Dennis Channel, Jr., of Denver, CO, Greg Channel of Arlington, VA, Kristi (Jeff) Goodwin of Morgantown, Pam (Mike) Bean of Morgantown, Jesse (Misty) Miller of Fairmont, Heather (Jimmy) Rossetti of Copley, OH, Hope (Geoff) Gage of Morgantown, Debbie Burns of Morgantown and Missy (Fred) Burns of Grand Junction, Co; step-nieces; Dorthea, Sara, and Martha. She is also survived by 26 great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Morrison; a special friend, Kenneth Bolyard; brother, Robert Lee Burns, brother-in-law, Buster Miller; niece, Stephanie Channel and step-nephew, Richard Casseday . Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Tuesday, March 22nd from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, March 23rd from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11a.m. with Rev. Ed Craft officiating. Interment will follow in East Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Visiting Homemakers, Inc., 382 Broadway Ave # A, Morgantown, WV 26505.
