Obituary of Ida Geraldine "Jerry" Poulson

Ida G. (Jerry) Poulson passed away peacefully on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Monongalia General Hospital. Jerry was born April 1, 1920 in Terra Alta, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wildie and Bertha Tasker and her stepmother, Daisy Tasker; two sisters, a brother and her husband of 44 years, Walter L. Poulson. Ida is survived by her daughters, Sandy Poulson of Morgantown and Karen (Nick) Zervos of Glen Dale, WV; her two grandchildren, Erin (Mike) Yu and Peter (Melissa) Zervos; four great-grandchildren, Claire and Elaina Yu and Sydney and Noah Dubovich; nieces and nephews Gary Hartman, Roseann Henley, Tom Jackson and Terry Sckenberger; and her best friend of 65 years, Louise Reppy. Jerry was a homemaker and always the first one to step in to help family and friends in times of need. Above all, she was a loving and wonderful wife and mother and enjoyed caring for her home and was so happy to be able to spend her last years there. The family would like to thank the various care givers she had but especially Patty Taylor from Visiting Homemakers who has been so good to her in the last few months. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, WV on Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Monday, May 9 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. D. D. Meighen officiating. Interment will follow at the Evansville Cemetery, Evansville, WV.
