Obituary of Robert Phillips Cook

Robert Phillips Cook, 84, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016, at Sundale Nursing Home. He was born in Osage on August 20, 1932, the son of the late Thomas Ross Cook and Nellie Virginia (Craig) Cook. Robert was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force for 4 years, was employed in the automotive industry and retired after working for 9 years at WVU. He loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Betty June (Flanagan) Cook; children, Pamela Lyn Cook Smith (Art) of Morgantown, Ramona Dawn Cook Taylor (Jim) of Marysville, OH; Phillipa “Luci” Kimberly Cook Denjen (Rick) of Granville; grandchildren, Todd Frymyer (Renee), Ryan Sotirakis, Cara Sotirakis Rambosek (James), Lucas Sotirakis, Stephanie Denjen, Abby Taylor, Katie Taylor Rogers (Matt) and Kent Taylor; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Morgan, Makenna, Destin, Willem, Rowan and Penny; brother, George Leonard Cook (Agnes) of Morgantown. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Elma Jeans, Gladys Ridings, Carl Cook, Thomas Cook, Duane Cook and Leon Cook. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Wednesday, December 7th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, December 8th from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. James R. Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery with full military rites being provided.
