So sad to lose Barb's physical presence. She was one of the best huggers. May her family find comfort in knowing how much she is loved. How much her wisdom lives on in so many of us.
During a conversation with Barb at a time I faced a number of challenges I told her how when heading into a 'storm' I prayed to God to stay with me; how I imagined him over my shoulder. Admittedly I was slightly proud sharing how I was coping. Barb responded reassuringly, "Oh, Hon, he's always with you. You don't have to pray for that." I love now knowing that ever after.
And, I will dearly miss being called "Hon."

To Barb's family--Barb was one of my aunt Rosie's best friends, so I have known Barb pretty much my whole life. I have a lot of fond memories of Barb growing up, but as an adult, my strongest memory of her was watching her give a eulogy for Rosie. I appreciated her raw feelings and knowing that others were not afraid of expressing what I felt. Over the last few years I have found that Barb and I have a lot in common, as we often commented and liked each other's posts. I messaged her in late November after I heard she wasn't doing well and told her I loved her and was happy to have her in my life, partly because she made me feel close to Rosie.
I have shed so many tears since I found out she has gone, but as sad as I am, I am happy knowing that Barb is with her best friend again. I will remember the two of them sitting on my grandmother's porch in the early morning, drinking coffee in their robes, talking, and laughing.

To Jodie and the whole family I send my condolences. I met Ms. Barb more than 30 yrs ago when Jodie and I were still in school. I remember her as a caring and loving woman. I pray that Our Father embraces your family during this time and blesses all of you with love and strength. I know your pain and you will all be in my prayers.

Being your only son-in-law, I always insisted to be your "favorite" son-in-law. :-) For 18 years you have been in my life. I loved you as if you were my own mom. I will be missing you so much. My life changed with you in it and will be empty without you. Love you Mom. I will still be sending you Facebook messages like I do my dad. I hope you get to read them.
