Obituary of Mary Ammons

Mary Ammons (Manos) went home to be with the Lord and her beloved children on March 7, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 30, 1936 in Westover to the late Nick and Helen (Morris) Manos.
Mary was a 1954 Morgantown High graduate and was a lifetime member of the Assumption Orthodox Church. She was also a board member of the Westside senior center, member of the Assumption Ladies Auxiliary, Westside Red Hatters, and Westside Civic Club. She loved playing bingo with her many friends, attending Friday night jam sessions at the senior center, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her childhood sweetheart and husband of 60 years, Jack Ammons, she leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Stephanie Heilman (Smith) and husband Andy Heilman, Alex Smith, beloved great grandsons Noah and Carson, brother George Manos (Carol), many loved nieces and nephews and special "sister" Connie Powley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Joyce Crissinger, and her beloved children Neil Edward Ammons and Donna Marie Smith (Ammons).
Friends may call at the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St. Morgantown, on Friday, March 10th from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Trisagion service will take place at 8:30 PM to conclude the evening visiting. Visitation will continue at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 447 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Saturday, March 11th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Father David Shaw. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
