George Leonard Cook, Sr., 90, Morgantown, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

 

George was born in Morgantown on February 17, 1927, a son of the late Thomas Ross Cook and Nellie Virginia (Craig) Cook.

 

He is survived by his children: Patty Cook Ridgway and husband Tom, Damon Cook and wife Vikki, and George Cook, Jr. and wife Sandra; grandchildren: Natalie Ridgway and Daniel R. Cook; Great granddaughters: Alexandra and Quinlin Cook.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Agnes Ruth (Clark) Cook, and siblings: Elma Jeans, Gladys Ridings, Carl Cook, Thomas Cook, Duane Cook, and Leon Cook, and Bobby Cook.

 

George was the last surviving member of his family.

 

Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV on Thursday, April 27 at 12PM until the time of funeral service at 1PM with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.  Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery, Morgantown.
