Obituary of Kathy Jo Hurley

Kathy Jo Hurley, 42, of Morgantown went to join her mother in heaven on Sunday, May 14, 2017.  She was born in Massillon, OH, a daughter of Johnny Hurley and the late Loreen Hurley. 

 

Kathy graduated Morgantown High School in 1992.  She enjoyed singing in the choir, designing computer graphics, going shopping, spending time with her puppies, and the children in her life.  Kathy’s family and friends meant everything to her.  She had a heart full of love and tried to leave everyone with a smile. 

 

In addition to her father, she is survived by her sister, Barbara Coates and her husband Teller; niece, Dani Tuggle; nephew, Cody Gray; uncle, Richard Hurley and his companion Jan Mondik; aunt, Earlene Poregory and husband Randy; great aunt, Mary Jane Hunter and husband Chuck; great aunt, Mary Jane Uphold; cousins, Dawn Dalaney and husband James, Richard Hurley, Jr and wife Michelle, Andrea Eisenberger and family, and Amanda Nieves and family; family friends, Larry and Peggy Blosser and family and Leslie Blosser and family; and her beloved dogs, Emmy, Hayley, and Cammy.

 

In addition to her mother, she is also preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Carl and Mary Alice Uphold; paternal grandparents, Albert and Ruth Hurley; aunt, Carla Uphold; uncle, Eddie Uphold; and her beloved dogs, Cordy and Angel.

 

The family would like to thank WV Caring Hospice and her nurse Courtney for all of their love and support.

 

In keeping with her wishes, Hastings Funeral Home, Omega Crematory has been entrusted with cremation services.  Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Saturday, May 20th from 10 AM until the time of the memorial service at 11 AM with Pastor Barry Adkins officiating.
