Obituary of Evelyn Lucille Dunn
Evelyn Lucille Dunn, 97, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Morgantown Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Morgantown on October 16, 1919, the daughter of the late Charles Ulysses Henry and the Nellie (Blosser) Henry.
Evelyn was a devoted wife, great cook, and loving mother to her five children. She enjoyed singing gospel music, attending auctions, square dancing, shopping, and playing bingo. Most of all she loved playing the harmonica and spending time with her family and friends, and her four legged companion, Baylee.
Evelyn is survived by four daughters, Virginia “Vergie” and Robert “Bob” Smith, Nancy “Naomi” and George “Allen” Starkey, Emma “Sally” Mayfield, and Donna Shaffer; one son, Clark “Dennis” and wife Carmen Dunn, all of Morgantown; seven grandchildren, Gary Kiddy, Debra Adams, Timothy Mayfield, Tammy Mayfield and companion Stacey McKee, Veronica and husband Wilford McFoy, Gregory and wife Jamie Dunn, and Casey Shaffer; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Clark Mack Dunn; four sisters and five brothers; and one son-in-law Thomas Shaffer.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all of the caregivers who have graciously provided the utmost care for our mother over the years.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Monday, June 12th from 4-8 PM and on June 13th at Nicholson Chapel from 11-1 PM, the time of the service with Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating.
Interment will follow at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.
