Sue and I send our condolences to the Overberger family. Jim was an outstanding educator in many areas and was a significant player in making the WVU School of Dentistry such a high quality institution. Those of us who were graduates, and went on to practice in different parts of the country, were proud to say that we could put our dental education from WVU up against that of any school in the country, and Jim was a big part of that. He loved teaching and his students! God bless. Harry Rohrer, Class of 1967

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Dr. Overberger had a huge impact on my family and my careers here at WVU.
He hired my father, Holbert Gilleland, in 1972 and brought us from Kansas to WVU where they were very close in the dental school and good friends. Dr. Overberger also hired me to work in the Dental Dispensing Window in 1977 and opened my eyes to higher education.
Many years later, as the Cardiac Rehab Exercise Physiologist, I was the therapist to walk him down the hall in the hospital. I can still see the look on his face when I came into his room. A great man and good friend to our family.
Many blessings and good memories.
