Obituary of George W. Deuesenberry
George Wayne “Sugar” Deuesenberry gained his Angel Wings on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at
Mon Health Medical Center.
Wayne, nicknamed Sugar by his Grandfather, briefly served in the Army. He was a well known
Mechanic nationwide. He worked at McLane Sand and General Paving for many years. In later
life, he worked at Valiant Security until his retirement.
Wayne had many loves-Nascar,George Jones,Tony Stewart, Jeopordy, Wheel of Fortune, Black Bears
Baseball and his family. His greatest joys were any moments he spent with his children, grandchildren
and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his three daughters Kelly (Mark) Harbert of Monongah, WV, Karla (Greg) Kurcaba
and Kristine (Randy) Vinson of Morgantown, WV. Five grandchildren include Candace (Rob) Howell of
Fairmont, WV, Mark (Ashley) Harbert of Monongah, WV, Lindsay (Dan) Bailie, Maranda Vinson of
Morgantown, WV and Storm Deuesenberry whom he helped raise and called his son of Morgantown.
Ten Great Grandchildren and one due in October and Six Brothers and Sisters: Don (Karen) Deuesenberry, Arthur (Darlene) Deuesenberry, Tom (Edys) Deuesenberry, Connie Eaglen, Grace (Dick)
Bartrug and Dollie (Dan) Barker. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and a long list of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Permelia (Pam) Holbert Deuesenberry , a granddaughter Aubrey Lea Deuesenberry and his parents George (Chub) and Sarah Graham Deuesenberry.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sundale Nursing Home for all the love they showed Wayne.
Family and Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home 153 Spruce Street Morgantown on Saturday August 19, 2017 from 9-11:00 AM. Services will be held at the Hastings Funeral Home at
11:00 AM with Pastor Lynda Masters officiating. Burial will follow in Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.
