Herbert Leland Kincaid
Herbert Leland Kincaid, 74, of Morgantown WV passed away on Thursday October 12, 2017 surrounded by his beloved family.
He is son of the late Cecil and Maxine Kincaid he was born April 27, 1943 in Radford Virginia. He lived briefly in Hinton WV as a young child before moving to Morgantown.
He graduated from University High School in Morgantown WV in 1962 and received many awards for his excellence in Basketball and Football. He served in the United States Army and is a Veteran of the Korean War and had a deep love for his country.
He met the love of his life Linda (Marshall) Kincaid and married her in 1966.
He was a member of the Carpenters Union for 50 years and he enjoyed hunting, model trains, and wood working, the WVU Mountaineers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Penguins. He mostly enjoyed his family and especially his two grandsons. He will be remembered by all as a jokester and jovial man.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Linda Kincaid. His daughter Jennifer (Kincaid) Alexander and her husband Frederick Alexander, daughter Stephanie (Kincaid) Montgomery and her husband David Montgomery. His two grandsons Nicolas Alexander and Matthew Montgomery. His brothers Homer, Roy, and Emmett (Bernice) Kincaid, his friend and brother in-law Jeff Marshall (Joyce), Roy/Pete (Pat) Marshall, sister in-law Brenda Nester (Charles). As well as many very special nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephew and friends. As well as my parents special relationship for so many long years Carol and Ron Hungate.
In additional to his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by his sister Juanita (Kincaid) Hess, Brother Vernon Kincaid, his sister in laws Barbara and Lou Kincaid.
Herbert's wishes were for cremation and a celebration of his life with family and friends. Hastings Funeral Home will handle the cremation services.
A gathering will be held for Herbert at his and Linda's home on Monday October 16, 2017 from 1 to 6 PM. All are welcome to come and share special times and memories with his family and friends.
